Welcome to Realer. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Realer mobile application (“App”) and related services operated by Realer LLC (“Realer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Realer. We collect your date of birth during signup and verify that you meet this age requirement. If we determine that you are under 18, your account will be terminated immediately. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as needed. You may not create more than one account or transfer your account to another person.
3. How Realer works
Realer uses artificial intelligence to analyze your profile, photos, and questionnaire responses to generate compatibility scores and match recommendations. AI-generated content, including compatibility narratives (“Why You Matched”), is produced automatically and may not perfectly represent your views or the views of your matches.
During your initial period on Realer, you may receive AI-generated candidate profiles designed to help calibrate your matching preferences. These profiles are clearly marked with an “AI” badge and use stock imagery. They are not real users. Your interactions with these profiles (including yes/no decisions and feedback) are used to improve your future matches.
4. Photo and content processing
Your photos are processed by AI for content moderation (to keep the community safe) and to extract visual characteristics used in matching. This includes analysis of facial features and other visual traits. By uploading photos, you consent to this processing.
By uploading photos, text, or other content, you grant Realer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and process your content for the purpose of providing and improving the service. This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for anonymized or aggregated data which may be retained indefinitely.
5. Sensitive personal information
The Realer questionnaire collects information that may include religious beliefs, political views, relationship and intimacy preferences, and lifestyle choices. This data is used exclusively for matching purposes. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold to third parties, and can be deleted at any time by deleting your account in Settings.
6. User safety and assumption of risk
Realer does not conduct criminal background checks on any user. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and offline. Realer is not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline.
When meeting someone in person, always meet in a public place, tell a friend your plans, and trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave the situation and report the user.
7. User conduct
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Creating fake or misleading profiles
- Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users
- Posting hate speech, discriminatory content, or illegal material
- Soliciting money or commercial services
- Scraping, copying, or mining data from the App
- Sharing other users’ photos or personal information outside the App
- Using the App if you are under 18 years of age
Violation of these rules may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent termination of your account.
8. Subscriptions and payment
Realer offers a free Founding Member tier for the first 100 users. Founding Member status is non-transferable and provides free access to Realer for the lifetime of the service.
Standard subscriptions are $9.99 per month and renew automatically until canceled. Before subscribing, you will be shown the price, renewal period, and cancellation instructions. You can cancel your subscription at any time through Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
9. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Upon deletion, your profile is immediately removed from all matching and discovery. Personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data and any reports filed against your account may be retained.
Realer may suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Reasons for termination include but are not limited to: violation of these Terms, violation of Community Guidelines, fraudulent activity, or behavior that endangers other users.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Realer and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
Realer’s total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Realer in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
11. Dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
A binding arbitration clause with class action waiver will be added to these Terms following attorney review. You will be notified of this update and given 30 days to opt out.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of Realer after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For significant changes, we may require you to re-accept the Terms.
